The Portland Trail Blazers could soon regain the services of one center, but another might remain out, along with a starting forward.

Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said starting center Deandre Ayton, who missed Saturday’s loss to Miami with calf soreness, practiced Monday and could return Tuesday night against the Brooklyn Nets at the Moda Center.

“I suspect that DA will be fine tomorrow,” Billups said.

Backup center Robert Williams III, who sat out two games with an illness, didn’t appear ready to return.

“He wasn’t feeling great today,” Billups said. “Not at all.”

Forward Jerami Grant has missed seven games with a face contusion.

“He’s ramping up,” Billups said. “He did some things today. But then we went live, and he didn’t. Nothing really new to report.”

While it appears that Ayton will return and Grant and Williams probably won’t play against the Nets, Billups left things with all three open-ended.

“A lot can happen in a day,” Billups said.
